3/21/09 - 3//22/09 - Grade School States - 6th Annual Grade School State Championships, Marion, Ohio - Six members of the Junior Rocks traveled to Marion, Ohio for the Grade School state championships - Four of them earned All-Ohio honors:  OthaJ, CollinK, ColinK, and JoshM placed 1st, 8th, 5th and 2nd respectively.  JoshV and DavidG were state qualifiers and gained valuable experience.  Congratulations on the achievement!

3/14/09-3/15/09 - Junior High States- 11th annual JH State Championships.  Junior Rock wrestlers competed in Marion, Ohio. JoshM and AlexM were state qualifiers and gained valuable experience. See Photos here

3/1/09 - Toledo Central Catholic Spring Tournament - ~300 wrestlers across six age divisions and sixy-four weight classes participated in the annual spring tournament. Wrestlers from across OH, MI and even NY participated in this event. In addition to providing wrestling opportunities in a top notch facility, this tournament acts as a fund raiser for the Junior Rock & CCHS wrestling programs. 2/22/09 - Junior High Districts - Five members of the Junior Rocks competed at the Junior High District wrestling tournament held at Perry Field house on the campus of Bowling Green State University. AlexM and JoshM placed 4th and 5th respectively and qualified for the Junior High State Tournament in Marion Oh on 14-15 March. See Photos here

2/8/09 - Grade School Districts - Five Junior Rock wrestlers completed in the Grade School District Championships at Oregon Clay H.S. Colin K & Josh M were crowned as individual Champions! David G was a runner-up, Josh V placed 4th. All four have qualified for the OAC State Championships 21/22 March, See Photos here

2/7/09 - 5th thru 8th grade CYO championships - Ten Junior Rock wrestlers traveled to Hawkin Upper School in Chesterland OH for the 2009 CYO Diocesan Championships. Matt P was crowned as a Champion, the 2nd ever from Toledo! ColinK and AlexM finished 2nd. JimmyT and JoshM finished 4th. DavidG finished 5th and KevinK placed 6th. The guys wrapped up their CYO season by competing in thirty-four matches against very good competition with fifteen victories.  See Photos Here

1/31/09 - Cleveland CYO Sectional - Thirteen wrestlers competed in CYO sectional competition at St, Mary's Berea. The team brought home the runner-up honors. CollinK, ColinK, MattP, and AlexM were crowned as individual Champions! Eleven wrestlers qualified for the Championship tournament. Experience was gained, fun was had! See Photos here

1/25/09 - Cleveland CYO at St. Mary's Berea - Thirteen wrestlers, traveled to Berea OH to compete in CYO competition with St. Charles Borromeo & St. Thomas More. Thirty-five matches were contested with eighteen victories. Experience was gained against solid competition and fun was had! See Photos Here

1/18/09 - 11th Junior High CIT - Five wrestlers traveled to Lakewood St. Edward for the 11th Annual Junior High Catholic Invitational Tournament.  The field consisted of twenty teams from across Ohio and West Virginia, Congratulations to MattP with a runner-up finish and KevinK who finished 5th in his respective weight division! 1/11/09 - Cleveland CYO @ St. Clarence - Sixteen members of the Toledo Central Catholic CYO squad traveled to North Olmsted, OH for dual meet competition with St. Bernadette and Holy Cross. Forty matches were contested with nineteen victories. Valuable experience was gained and fun was had by all! See Photos here01/04/09 - Cleveland CYO @ St. Mary's - Four coaches, fifteen wrestlers and their families traveled to Berea, Ohio for CYO dual meet competition.  Forty-three matches were contested with St. Joseph & John and St. Mary's.  The guys came home with twenty-eight victories.  Fun was had by all!  See Photos here
01/06/09 - Mourning the Loss of Coach Dick Wilson - The wrestling community lost a great man, wrestler and coach in Dick Wilson ... Coach Wilson was an accomplished wrestler, teacher, and father. In addition to his ability to teach wrestling he was especially gifted at assisting wrestlers in their psychological preparation and building their self confidence. Obituary and guestbook. 1/02/09 - Toledo Central Catholic JH Duals - Twelve Junior High teams from around Ohio and Michigan competed in five dual matches each in this one day tournament. Wauseon topped the field consisting of: Bowling Green, Cinci LaSalle, Col deSales, Davison MI, Eastwood, Genoa, Maumee-Gateway, Norwalk, Tol CC, Tol St. Johns, & Woodmore. 12/27/08 - 7th & 8th Grade @ Norwalk St. Paul JH Invitational - Six wrestlers traveled to Norwalk for competition with twelve very competitive teams. 22 matches were contested, 14 victories were recorded. RyanR placed 2nd, MattP, AlexM, KevinK placed 3rd and EstabonN placed fifth  See photos here12/21/08 - Cleveland CYO @ Ascension - Fifteen members of the Toledo Central Catholic CYO squad traveled to Cleveland, OH for dual meet competition with west Park Catholic Academy and St. Gregory the Great. Thirty-four matches were contested with eighteen victories. Valuable experience was gained and fun was had!  See Photos here
12/14/08 - Cleveland CYO @ St. Clarence - Twenty-Two members of the Toledo Central Catholic CYO squad traveled to North Olmsted, OH for dual meet competition with St. Clarence and St. Joseph & John. Forty-one matches were contested with twenty-six victories. Valuable experience was gained and fun was had! See Photos here11/29/08 - Toledo Takedown Festival - Youth wrestlers came from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania to compete in the 2008 TTF!  The Tournament was held in the Sullivan Center at Central Catholic High School.
